About Us
With the help of a grant from the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® North Texas Affiliate, Pioneer Breast Health and Community Outreach Program of Denton County was created by Dr. Jody Oomen - Early and Ms. Priyanka Lalwani of Texas Woman's University to help educate women in Denton County about breast health, spread the important message of early detection, and help increase women's access to screening services.
Our Mission
Pioneer Breast Health and Community Outreach is a multi-faceted program focused on increasing knowledge and changing attitudes about breast health and early detection within Denton County. With support from Susan G. Komen for the Cure®North Texas Affiliate, breast health educators will provide culturally relevant on-site breast health education, connect medically underserved, uninsured, or underinsured women to low cost and/or free mobile mammography, and facilitate community events that raise awareness about breast health.
